As you’re tearing open that beautifully wrapped present this year, take a moment to remember how the gift got to you. Whether it’s electronics, clothes, or jewelry, it was probably delivered by a trucker from a not-so-near location.

You may not think about it, but the transportation industry ensures our economy runs properly all year long. It ensures construction workers have the materials they need to work, grocery stores have food, and it’s even responsible for delivering gasoline to gas stations. Trucking is a vital part of society, and without it, holiday travel and festivities wouldn’t be as easily available.

While the roads may seem bare this beloved holiday season, keep in mind that there are truckers working hours all across the country. As you start your holiday travels, consider the safety hazards that come with the winter season and drive cautiously as you approach trucks.

Lastly, be sure to thank a trucker at the next opportunity you get. Not all truck drivers get the opportunity to spend the holidays at home with their families. Although it’s just one of the many sacrifices these workers make to keep our economy going, remember to give back this year.

At US Transport, our family-oriented atmosphere remains at the heart of our culture. Interested in joining a team driven by transportation excellence? Learn more.
